"Aktiv Art," the mobile application that complements the volumes of How the World Works, consists of Augmented Reality animations that interconnect with the book's content to create a spectacular visual experience. All the reader has to do is scan the markers on the pages with the camera of an Android or iOS device, causing a 3D animation to pop up on the device's screen which displays a particular natural phenomenon (e. g., a volcano, an iceberg, etc.) in a fully zoomable and navigable environment.
